Generator Use

QUIET GENERATORS ONLY

Generator Use Regulations (2026 Season)

QUIET generators of 70 dB(A) max. at 5 feet are permitted in our campground. We will enforce this rule with a noise level meter at 5FT if we believe your generator exceeds the 70 dB(A) limit. Please check PRIOR to your visit that your generator is UNDER 70 dB(A) limit. If your equipment is found to be above this limit, you will be required to turn off the unit for the remainder of your stay.

Please be Courteous

We strive to make all guests comfortable during their stay. We wish to allow all guests with the need for power to use generators on non-electric sites, while still remaining courteous of their neighbors. Here are a few tips to help us all have a great stay:

  • Keep your generator close to your own campsite. The further away the generator is from others, the less noise it will make for them. Try to place your generator closer to your own equipment to help reduce the noise level for others around you.
  • Use a sound barrier. Try using a sound barrier to help reduce the noise. A sound barrier can be anything that will block or absorb noise, such as a tarp, blankets, or other object between your generator and your neighbor.
  • Turn off the generator when not in use. If you’re not using the generator, there’s no need to keep it running. Turning it off will help reduce the noise level for you and other campers.
  • Upgrade to an electric site. We have 30-amp electric sites in our campground. Please consider upgrading to an electric site if available, and there will be no need to run a generator at all!
